Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a supplier for video conferencing equipment and professional services to support, maintain and migrate its existing PolyCom codec estate to native Microsoft Teams endpoints across its sites in North Wales. The work covers codec endpoints located in the three District General Hospitals (Ysbyty Gwynedd, Ysbyty Wrexham Maelor, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd) and various community hospitals, and includes auditing and documenting the legacy VC estate; planning and implementing migrations from PolyCom to Teams where appropriate (for example clinical multi-disciplinary meeting rooms); auditing, planning and carrying out software maintenance and upgrades across the VC codec estate; configuring, planning and maintaining a BCU-specific central video conferencing management portal; configuration and administrative tasks for the PolyCom service; ensuring systems are monitored and managed with appropriate tools; and keeping all VC system documentation up to date while supporting the health board’s experienced Voice and Data team. The health board currently uses Microsoft Teams for much collaboration, uses PolyCom for room-based systems, subscribes to a PexIP CVI SaaS service for interoperability with legacy codecs, and plans to retire older codecs and the PexIP service by upgrading to native Teams codecs within the next 12 months.
