Tender: Tyre Waste Collection and Processing Services for Kent County Council – 19 HWRCs
Released 5 months ago
About
Kent County Council is seeking a supplier for collection, transportation and processing of tyre waste from its 19 Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) sites across Kent, including removal and disposal of fly-tipped tyres. The contract covers a range of tyre types—car, 4x4, bicycle, motorcycle, light goods vehicle (LGV), heavy goods vehicle (HGV), tractor and other agricultural or plant/machinery tyres—presented on or off rims, with services delivered on a scheduled or ad hoc basis. Tyres must be processed through lawful, environmentally responsible methods such as shredding, granulation, repurposing, reuse or recycling, with a priority on maximising recycling and recovery and avoiding landfill and energy-from-waste. Suppliers must operate fully permitted processing facilities, meet high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance, have capacity to process up to 125 tonnes of tyre waste per annum (tonnage may be split across multiple contracts), be able to mobilise within two weeks of contract award, and commit to an anticipated three-year contract term.
