About

Somerset Council is seeking a supplier to undertake a Sustainability Appraisal (incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment and a Health Impact Assessment) of the emerging Somerset Local Plan 2025–2045 and to provide associated SA Reports to accompany stages of plan production, consultation, publication, submission and adoption as necessary. This tender covers refining alternatives and assessing the effects of the emerging Local Plan (Stage B), production of the SA (Stage C) and amending the SA following consultation (Stage D); the council has already produced the SA Scoping Report (Stage A).

Insight

This opportunity is suited to consultancies experienced in Sustainability Appraisal, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Health Impact Assessment; bidders should be prepared to deliver stage-specific SA reports for Stages B, C and D and to revise the appraisal following consultation, ensuring consistency with the completed Stage A scoping report.
