The BSOL Procurement Collaborative, hosted by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking suppliers for the supply of infusion devices and associated consumables on behalf of Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The contract is for an initial five-year period with an option to extend for two further 12-month periods and is split into two lots: Lot 1 for syringe drivers and associated consumables, and Lot 2 for volumetric pumps and associated consumables. Both lots require initial and ongoing clinical training for approximately 1,700 nurses, technical training for around 8–10 medical engineering staff, warranty cover, spare parts availability, and clinical and technical support for the contract duration, and include a phased replacement programme with specified quantities to be delivered and invoiced by 31 March 2026, 31 March 2027 and 31 March 2028. The authority will consider finance options (outright purchase, lease or purchase set plan), and will evaluate bids through a three-stage process (essential PSQ assessment, technical/quality shortlisting, and final show-and-tell demonstrations with reference site checks), assessing whole-life cost and awarding to the most economically advantageous tender using a £ per assessed benefit method.
