LondonEnergy Ltd is seeking a supplier for the supply, delivery and onsite maintenance of mobile plant for its Reuse and Recycling Centres (RRCs) in North London. The contract (commencing 1 October 2026) covers mobile plant to be delivered and maintained onsite at RRCs where mobile plant operate (Camden, Waltham Forest, Barnet and Haringey), with LondonEnergy operating seven RRCs and adding an eighth; Barrowell Green RRC is currently excluded from the initial scope but may be incorporated later. Requirements include multiple safety and operational features such as reversing/CCTV systems, amber beacons and seat belt warnings, an automated engine cut-off after 3 minutes idle, air pre-cleaner and HEPA 0.3 micron cab filters, windscreen cage protection, auto-lube dispensers, speed/gear restriction to 10 MPH (1st & 2nd only), onboard automated fire suppression, anti-theft devices, additional guarding for hydraulic hoses and suitability for dusty, hot and humid outdoor operation. The procurement is split into lots: Lot 1 seeks 5 (6) material handling machines equivalent to LH 18 M Liebherr with solid tyres, long arms, machine stabilisers, raising cab and a permanently fitted rehandling grab with 40mm one-piece wear edge and specified foot-pedal open/close and rotation controls (estimated annual usage 1,400 hours ±10%). Lot 2 covers servicing, electrical upgrades and planned maintenance management (contractor to be given 14 days notice) with replacement machinery if any unit is out of service or offsite for longer than 24 hours and wear & tear included. Lot 3 covers tyres and tail blades with reactive maintenance available 7 days a week, attendance within 90 minutes of fault notification and all repairs completed during site operational hours (08:30–16:30 Monday–Sunday). Suppliers may bid for one or more lots and must provide separate pricing; the tender is due to be published on the Delta eSourcing portal on 4 June.

This opportunity is well suited to manufacturers or hirers of heavy material-handling machines and to maintenance contractors experienced in municipal waste/recycling operations; key challenges include meeting detailed safety, filtration and fire-suppression specifications, providing onsite maintenance across multiple borough sites, meeting rapid reactive-response (90 minutes) and 24-hour replacement expectations, and ensuring equipment is rated for dusty, hot and humid outdoor use.
