Tender: Supply and Installation of 18.5m x 15.5m MUGA and Playing Surface – Old Sarum Community Centre
Released 10 months ago
About
Laverstock & Ford Parish Council is seeking a supplier for the supply and installation of a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and playing surface at Old Sarum Community Centre, Pheasant Drive (W3W: ///envoy.instead.revived). The works include excavation and removal of the existing playing surface and metal frame sports wall, excavation of an 18.5m x 15.5m area to a minimum depth of 150mm with off-site disposal of arisings, installation of geotextile membrane, concrete pin curb edgings fully haunched in concrete, supply and lay of 100mm 40mm Type 1 stone base, supply and installation of an IAE Duex Rebound 868 MUGA (approx. 18 x 15m) with 2 recessed goal ends with basketball hoops (one with side access), fencing comprising two 3m-high ends, one 3m-high side, two 1m-high sides (one fitted with a 1.2m spectator rail and one incorporating a chicane entrance), supply and lay of porous macadam to curb level, and painted line markings for basketball and five-a-side football. Site set-up requirements noted include Heras fencing, secure storage and welfare facilities, and disposal of packing and waste. The contract is expected to start in Spring 2026 with completion required by Summer 2026; suppliers must demonstrate proven experience in MUGA or sports-surface construction, hold appropriate insurance and public liability cover, and comply with relevant health and safety regulations, and should submit a detailed quote with cost breakdown, estimated timeline and any recommendations. For further information contact Jon Sloan, Parish Clerk, [email protected].
This opportunity is suited to contractors or specialist sports-surface installers experienced with MUGA systems (including IAE Duex Rebound 868) and who can manage excavation, off-site disposal, concrete curb works and porous macadam surfacing. Key considerations are the site set-up requirements (Heras fencing, storage and welfare), the need to meet insurance and H&S obligations, and delivering the full scope within the Spring–Summer 2026 programme.
