About

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a supplier to carry out sound insulation of the smoke extract void wall at the Corby Cube to reduce noise transfer from the Theatre into the Council Chamber. The Corby Cube is the council headquarters and includes a Council Chamber on Level 02 and a Theatre between Basement Level -2 and Level 01; Sound Solution Consultants were commissioned to investigate noise issues and, in their January 2025 survey report, provided costings for remedial option 1: sound insulation of the smoke extract void wall.

Insight

This tender is likely valuable to contractors specialising in acoustic remedial works and sound insulation; key considerations include effectively reducing noise transfer between the Theatre and the Level 02 Council Chamber and delivering the installation within the smoke extract void wall as set out in the SSC January 2025 report.
