Tender: Rocket Park Play Area Refurbishment and Upgrades – Lytchett Matravers, Dorset (Autumn 2026)
Released 5 months ago
About
Lytchett Matravers Parish Council is seeking a supplier for the refurbishment and enhancement of Rocket Park, the village’s principal public play area in Lytchett Matravers, Poole, Dorset (What3Words ///mutual/nursing/crunching). The work includes removal and disposal of selected existing play equipment, relocation of an existing rotator, installation of toddler play equipment (approx. ages 1–6) and challenging equipment for older children/teenagers (approx. ages 12–15), replacement of the inset trampoline, installation of wetpour safety surfacing and pathways, upgrades to the ball court with a combined football goal/basketball hoop, new court and toddler roadway markings, and play panels in the toddler area. Equipment must be durable, low-maintenance and non-timber; the contractor will be responsible for removal, disposal, surfacing, installation, welfare facilities, site safety and reinstatement, and all equipment and surfacing must comply with BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177. The anticipated contract value is approximately £70,000–£85,000 excluding VAT, with works intended in Autumn 2026; tender submissions (PDF attachments by email to [email protected] with subject "Tender Submission - Rocket Park Refurb") are due by midday on Tuesday 14th July 2026 and clarification questions must be emailed to the Parish Clerk no later than seven days before the deadline. Submissions should include design proposals and visuals/layouts, an itemised pricing schedule, proposed programme/timeline, equipment specifications, warranty and maintenance information, relevant experience and references, and confirmation of insurance and standards compliance; the contract will be awarded on overall value including play value, quality, durability, experience and cost.
This is suited to playground equipment suppliers and installation contractors experienced in play-area refurbishment, wetpour surfacing and BS EN 1176/1177 compliance. Key considerations are the non-timber, durable equipment requirement, full responsibility for removal/disposal and site welfare, the Autumn 2026 programme and the estimated budget of £70k–£85k, plus the need to minimise disruption during school holidays.
