Department of Infrastructure is seeking a supplier for radar decommissioning works at Isle of Man Airport to be carried out by 28 February 2027. The Quick Quote competition covers removal and disposal of radar electronics, antennas, aerial turning gear, motors, mechanical components, all waveguides, redundant radar cabling, cabin equipment, spares and associated infrastructure for the airfield co‑mounted Plessey Watchman PSR and Cossor Condor SSR (both out of operational service since 2019 and understood to have been operational when switched off) and the off‑airfield Selex ATCR33SE PSR (in service since 2012, entered full operational service in 2019 and ended service in December 2025 with some service‑impacting faults remaining); radar cabins and all antenna support structures are to remain in place. Expressions of interest are open until 12:00 on Wednesday 30 September 2026 and submissions close at 12:00 on Friday 16 October 2026. The Quick Quote will be subject to the Isle of Man Government Standard Terms & Conditions for Goods and/or Services.

This could be ideal for contractors experienced in decommissioning radar systems and removing electrical and mechanical radar components; key considerations include the fixed completion date of 28 February 2027, managing equipment with known service‑impacting faults (Selex ATCR33SE), the requirement to leave cabins and support structures in place, and adherence to Isle of Man Government standard terms.
