The Authority is seeking a supplier for the delivery of public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Lancashire under the UK government's Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) programme, administered by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV). The Authority has been awarded £10,111,000 from the LEVI Capital fund and £400,000 from the LEVI Pilot fund for lamppost-integrated chargepoints, an aggregate of £10,511,000 to deliver public EV chargepoints as a single county-wide contract. The scheme aims to assist residents without off-street parking in transitioning to EVs, and the procurement is offered as a single lot covering the whole county with a desire to balance installations across more commercially viable and less commercially viable areas. An experienced charge point operator (CPO) with the technical expertise to deliver at scale and at pace is required. Modelling supported by Cenex and Transport for the North forecasts a minimum of 6,200 sockets by 2030 and at least 11,000 by 2035, but these forecasts are aspirational and do not form part of the minimum tender criteria; the final number of sockets will be determined through the tender evaluation. The Authority is supported by Cenex in conducting this procurement.
