Leicester City Council is seeking a supplier to recommission a local High Dependency Intermediate Care bed service on behalf of Leicestershire County Council and the LNR ICB. The service must provide a short-term, intensive, bedded service in a non-clinical environment (a nursing home) within the Leicester or Leicestershire area for people with complex health and social care needs who require a higher level of support than traditional intermediate care. The service aims to support timely hospital discharge, prevent unnecessary hospital admissions, promote recovery, reablement and rehabilitation, and enable people to regain as much independence as possible. The provider must offer fifteen dedicated High Dependency Intermediate Care beds within a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered nursing home rated Good or Outstanding at the point of tender submission, with the beds proposed to be block booked for the maximum contract term of three years on a 2+1 basis. This contract is being awarded through the Competitive Process under the Provider Selection Regime and full detailed requirements are available in the published documents.
