Newry, Mourne & Down District Council is seeking a supplier to deliver the PEACEPLUS 'Home Is a Journey' programme on migration in film and theatre as a retender. The programme sits under PEACEPLUS Strand 3, which focuses on cultural diversity and increasing understanding of and respect for cultural identities, and aligns with the NMDDC 'Thriving Together' Action Plan developed through a co-design approach involving local communities, statutory providers, public bodies, businesses and Council DEA Forums. Planned activities include museum visits, film and theatre screenings, guest speakers and facilitated discussions, and a dedicated Social Inclusion Officer will support development and monitoring of relationships and needs of minority and newcomer communities, including the Traveller community.

This could be ideal for cultural organisations, film and theatre producers, museums and community arts groups with experience in community engagement and working with minority and newcomer communities. Key considerations include delivering work within a co-design framework with local stakeholders and coordination with the Social Inclusion Officer, and programming that sensitively addresses historical and contemporary migration experiences across the UK and Ireland.
