About

Natural England is seeking a supplier to conduct passive quantitative sampling and targeted chemical analysis to assess exposure and effects of veterinary medicines and pesticides on aquatic wildlife within protected sites. The commission will use passive quantitative sampling and selective chemical analysis to cost-effectively identify the most relevant chemicals, compare measured concentrations against regulatory acceptable concentrations (RAC) to evaluate potential adverse effects, and assess additive or synergistic effects of chemical mixtures. The resulting evidence may inform direct management practices to mitigate adverse effects at source, in wastewater treatment works or within the protected site and will be provided to Natural England, the Pharmaceuticals in the Environment Group and the DEFRA Biodiversity Pressures Team.
