Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust (BDAT) is seeking a supplier for school improvement review services to lead one-day onsite education quality assurance reviews (assisted by BDAT senior colleagues) across its 21 academies in the Bradford Local Authority area. The reviews are intended to provide independently verified insights into each academy’s progress and performance, deliver support and challenge to drive holistic school and MAT improvement, offer professional development for BDAT school leaders through external review experience and share effective practice across the trust, and form a pillar of the MAT’s Quality Assurance and Evaluation oversight. The service will commence on 1 January 2027 with an initial three-year contract and an option to extend for a further two years. Each review is expected to take approximately two days in total (half a day preparation, one day on site and half a day to produce a summary report for the school, trust leaders, governors and trustees), with the focus for each review agreed in advance based on the school’s self-evaluation, development plans and previous external review feedback; reviews are not designed as mock inspections though they may mirror areas of the Ofsted framework. BDAT encourages cross-phase tender submissions for all 21 academies but reserves the right to award a single contract or split the requirement into Lots by phase (Primary and Secondary); tenderers may bid for individual Lots or the full requirement and should state which Lots they are bidding for.
