Rail for London Infrastructure (RFLI), a TfL subsidiary, is seeking a supplier for off-site servicing and calibration of life safety-critical pressure regulating valves (PRVs) used in the Elizabeth Line fire hydrant system. RFLI manages 1,438 PRVs that require off-site servicing every 36 months; Walter Frank, the OEM, currently handles inspection, calibration and certification and serviced PRVs must be returned with a certificate of conformity and are warrantied until the next scheduled service. The scope excludes on-site work and routine visits and focuses on off-site servicing of 40 units weekly, including collection and return, and RFLI is running a competitive procurement to award a contract based on the Most Advantageous Tender (MAT) to ensure compliance with OEM standards and protect the operational integrity of the fire hydrant system.

This could be ideal for specialist off-site valve servicing providers experienced in OEM-led inspection, calibration and certification and able to manage collection and return logistics for 40 units weekly. Key considerations include strict compliance with OEM-held intellectual property and standards, issuing certificates of conformity with warranties until the next service, and the capacity to service 1,438 PRVs on a 36-month cycle.
