Kent County Council is seeking a suitably experienced contractor to deliver coordinated, conservation-sensitive infrastructure works for the North Kent Grazing Project across multiple sites including Birling Estate, Ranscombe Farm Reserve, Trosley Country Park, Shorne Woods Country Park and Ladds Farm. The contract (single lot) covers stock-proof fencing installation and removal of dilapidated fencing, supply and installation of field, deer and accessibility gates, scrub clearance and green waste management (including mulching), water infrastructure (pipework, troughs and connections to existing supplies) and construction of access tracks where required. Works must be delivered across several sites within the Kent Downs National Landscape and North Kent Woods and Downs National Nature Reserve (many sites are SSSIs), comply with relevant legislation, British Standards and health and safety requirements, and be carried out by suitably qualified operatives with appropriate machinery; mandatory site visits will be coordinated on expression of interest. The contract is funded through the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) Programme, is expected to run from Autumn/Winter 2026 to Autumn 2027, and will be awarded on the lowest priced compliant tender subject to the stated quality requirements; quotations close at 12:00 noon on 28 August 2026.
