The Ministry of Justice is seeking suppliers for Court Appointed Intermediary Services to support vulnerable defendants in the criminal jurisdiction and vulnerable parties and witnesses in civil, family and tribunal jurisdictions, providing impartial communication assessments, recommendations for court support measures, and attendance at hearings in courts and tribunals in England, Wales and tribunals in Scotland as part of a framework re-opening in April 2026. The MoJ is only inviting tenders for intermediary services that fall outside the remit of the MoJ Witness Intermediary Scheme; all requests for intermediary support for witnesses in criminal cases will continue to be managed via the MoJ WIS.
