The Force is seeking a qualified MEP Clerk of Works to oversee the refurbishment of a five-storey building incorporating a combination of existing and new mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plant and systems. The MEP Clerk of Works will act on behalf of the Employer to monitor quality, compliance and installation standards throughout the project lifecycle. The contract period is approximately 20 months, with a requirement to attend site at least twice a week and to attend promptly if issues arise; the Successful Contractor must be based or have an office within a 40-mile radius of the site. Force HQ: Cobalt 9, 3 Quick Silver Way, West Allotment, Newcastle upon Tyne NE27 0QQ.

This opportunity is suitable for MEP Clerk of Works consultants or firms experienced in building refurbishments who can commit to a roughly 20-month contract and regular on-site presence. Key considerations include the twice-weekly attendance and rapid-response availability, plus managing quality and compliance across a mix of existing and new MEP systems, and the requirement to be located within 40 miles of the site.
