About

This opportunity seeks a provider for a cultural programme titled “Castles and Tower Houses of East Ulster and Louth” in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area, focused on raising awareness of medieval tower houses and castles across East Ulster and into County Louth. The programme highlights their importance to built heritage, changing settlement patterns, relationships between communities (including existing communities and new settlers), land ownership and usage, conflict, links with the wider world, cultural change, shifts in economy and society, maritime heritage, and the development of towns in the region.

Insight

Ideal for heritage and cultural programme specialists with experience in interpreting medieval sites and community engagement across East Ulster and County Louth. Key considerations include the cross-regional scope and the need to address multiple historical and social themes accurately and accessibly.
