Leicester City Council is seeking a provider for the Let's Get Growing Service (LGGS) to build on the previous food growing programme by developing community food growing opportunities, harnessing the skills and talents of local growing communities, and increasing knowledge and skills in communities with limited access to nature-based activities. The provider will deliver workshops, training courses and networking events to share good practice, promote the benefits of food growing and ecotherapy, raise awareness of green spaces to help prevent ill health and improve physical and mental health, strengthen community resilience, increase social inclusion and encourage involvement from seed sowing through to harvesting and sharing produce. The contract is for an initial three-year period from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2030 with an option to extend to 31 March 2032, and has an estimated value of £300,000 excluding VAT (£360,000 including VAT).
