Cambridge City Council is seeking a contractor for a package of internal and external repairs to 4-6 Short Street, covering masonry and brickwork repairs, roofing, joinery and timber repairs, drainage, ventilation, decorations and associated remedial works, together with specialist basement waterproofing. The basement waterproofing element requires contractor design and must achieve the specified BS 8102:2022 Grade 3 performance requirements. The premises will remain occupied throughout the works and are used as assisted living accommodation, so the contractor must plan, manage and provide the works to allow continued occupation. The property is subject to Listed Building Consent and all works must be provided in accordance with the contract scope and the approved listed building proposals. Relevant asbestos information is included in the tender and the asbestos survey identifies known asbestos-containing materials and areas that were inaccessible at the time of survey and requiring further inspection before disturbance.
