Greater Cambridge Partnership is seeking a supplier to act as the independent Assessment Body, Approved Body and Designated Body to provide assessment and statutory safety verification for the relocation of Waterbeach railway station. The project, led by GCP as the City Deal delivery body investing up to £500 million over 15 years to support major housing and infrastructure growth, will move the existing station a short distance north so it better serves the Waterbeach New Town development. The Network Rail Assurance Panel has categorised the works as 'Significant' under the Common Safety Method on Risk Evaluation and Assessment and interoperable under the Railway Interoperability Regulations, so the appointed supplier must undertake the assessments and safety verification required by legislation.
