Tender: Heritage and Traditional Skills Alternative Education Programme for Secondary Schools – Wrexham County Borough Council

About

Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) is seeking a community and alternative education provider whose specialism is heritage and traditional skills to deliver an expanded programme across the wider secondary school community. The supplier will support delivery alongside the Education Department and PRU service to provide heritage crafts, traditional construction skills, permaculture, blacksmithing and green space development as targeted, early-intervention provision for learners aged 11+ at risk of disengaging from mainstream education, building on pilots such as the Multiply and the UKSPF Best EET Forward project (completed April 2026). Senior leadership at WCBC will design and coordinate delivery, working closely with secondary schools and the procured delivery partner to identify suitable learners and offer additional programmes operating alongside statutory duties and existing budgets.
