The Department of Infrastructure is seeking a supplier to haul, place and compact aggregate supplied by Poortown Quarry to form a durable, HGV-trafficable running surface at Wright’s Pit North Landfill to be carried out before the end of November 2026. The work requires hauling material from Poortown Quarry and installing a drivable surface comprising a 100mm consolidated lower layer of inferior rubble and a 50mm consolidated upper layer of scalps (both layer specifications set by Poortown Quarry), with a minimum of one pass for consolidation per layer while using professional judgement to achieve an all-weather HGV surface with an anticipated four-year lifespan; the contractor must rectify any premature failures at their own time and cost. The surface must cover the combined areas of excavation phases 1 and 2 (estimated at approximately 6,700 m2 without guarantee), noting excavation work is due for completion by 30 September 2026 so final surface area and quantities are unconfirmed and contractors are expected to satisfy themselves and may carry out accompanied site surveys. The Quick Quote competition allows expressions of interest until 12:00 on 28 September 2026 and submissions until 12:00 on 30 September 2026; contracts will be subject to the Isle of Man Government Standard Terms & Conditions for Goods and/or Services.

This opportunity suits contractors with HGV haulage capacity, site compaction equipment and experience constructing durable, trafficked aggregate surfaces; key considerations are the unconfirmed surface area (contractors must verify quantities), the requirement to meet a four-year performance expectation with liability for premature failure, and the tight programme with excavation completing by 30 September 2026 and works due before end of November 2026.
