About

The project, supported by DEFRA's Wildlife Rich Habitat grant, is seeking a supplier to carry out grip and surface drainage channel blocking to re-wet peatland at Gun Moor, an 81 ha upland mix of habitats on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. Work focuses on blocking grips and surface drainage on areas of deep peat, with a mixture of 448 peat and stone interventions to be installed to re-wet the moorland.

Insight

This could be ideal for peatland restoration contractors or suppliers with experience in grip and drainage blocking; key considerations include working on areas of deep peat across an 81 ha upland moor and the logistics and careful installation of 448 peat and stone interventions.
