Tender: Floral Planting and Maintenance Contract for Seaton Valley (Seaton Delaval, Seghill, Seaton Sluice, New Hartley, Holywell) 2026–2028
Released 11 months ago
About
Seaton Valley Community Council (SVCC) is seeking a horticultural contractor for the supply, installation and maintenance of floral planting schemes across the five villages of Seaton Delaval, Seghill, Seaton Sluice, New Hartley and Holywell, supporting the council's transition from annual bedding to sustainable perennial planting, wildflower areas and enhanced biodiversity. The contract term is 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028 with an optional performance-dependent extension of up to 24 months, and the estimated combined value for 2026–28 is £100,000–£120,000 (year 1 non-binding expectation £50,000–£60,000). Bidders may tender for the full contract or for individual sub-lots; bids will be evaluated with weightings including Price (40%), Quality of Plants, Materials and Method (20%), Environmental Sustainability (12%), Design Approach (10%) and other criteria. Key dates include publication no later than 15 Dec 2025, clarifications close 17 Jan 2026 (12:00 noon), clarification responses issued 22 Jan, submission deadline 27 Jan (12:00 noon), award letters 16 March and contract start 1 April; tender submissions require a completed Submission Form and supporting documents and queries/submissions should be sent to [email protected].
This could be ideal for experienced horticultural or landscaping contractors able to deliver perennial and wildflower schemes and to bid for full or sub-lot work; consider the strong emphasis on price and plant/material quality in evaluation and the tight procurement timetable with mobilisation by 31 March and a performance-dependent extension.
