City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a contractor to deliver a new Fleet Services Depot, offices and associated parking at the Council-owned former Wholesale Market site on Hickman Avenue (WV1 2TX). The scheme will relocate Fleet Services and other Council services to the site and accommodate taxi licensing; a fleet vehicle workshop including an ATF lane with associated vehicle parking and electric vehicle chargers; Travel Unit minibus parking (the solution must achieve Department for Transport 'O' licence status); Meals on Wheels; street lighting and cleaning stores; shared office and welfare facilities for these services; and provision of renewable energy sources, including solar panels, to reduce the asset’s carbon footprint, serve the EV fleet and reduce utility costs. A planning application for the scheme is available under reference 25/00594/FUL on the Council planning portal.
