About

Derry City and Strabane District Council is seeking a supplier for a feasibility study, investment roadmap and outline business case to support a proposed £2m pilot to establish a Positive Energy District (PED) in Strabane Town Centre as part of the Smart Derry Strabane programme. The work focuses on the PED element of the programme; DCSDC is one of 64 locations selected for the EU Intelligent Cities Challenge, an initiative that brings together over 120 cities and has helped develop a stakeholder-driven Local Green Deal that integrates existing sustainable energy, climate action and circular economy plans. A concept report by Ulster University (Appendix 1) informed Strabane’s Local Green Deal (Appendix 2) and is referenced in the tender documentation.
