Tender: Development and Delivery of the Food for the Soul Nutritional Intervention Pilot for Welsh Fishermen
Released 2 months ago
About
Welsh Fishermen’s Association – Cymdeithas Pysgotwyr Cymru (WFA-CPC) is seeking a supplier for the development and delivery of the Food for the Soul Nutritional Intervention Pilot for Welsh fishermen. This practical, evidence-led pilot, part of the wider WFA-CPC Stronger at Sea approach, will develop vessel-ready nutritional solutions and educational resources to improve nutritional awareness and strengthen understanding of the relationship between diet, physical health, mental wellbeing, resilience and performance at sea. The contract (one contractor for all elements; named subcontractors required) is open to suitably qualified and experienced individuals, organisations or collaborative teams with a good understanding of the Welsh fishing community and has an available value of £30,000 to £48,000 including VAT. Deliverables’ intellectual property rights will vest in WFA-CPC on creation, while contractors may retain pre-existing materials subject to granting WFA-CPC a perpetual, royalty-free licence where those materials are incorporated. Project objectives include identifying real-world barriers to healthy eating at sea, creating practical vessel-ready solutions, engaging directly with fishermen in Welsh ports, producing accessible educational resources for wider use, supporting preventative approaches to health issues such as obesity, high cholesterol, fatigue and heart health, and producing a scalable pilot model to inform future delivery across Wales; Phase A (Research and Insight) will include attendance at a Welsh fishing port to be agreed with WFA-CPC and informal engagement.
This tender will be most relevant to suitably qualified individuals, organisations or collaborative teams with direct experience of or strong links to the Welsh fishing community and capability to deliver a pilot within a £30,000–£48,000 budget. Key considerations include the need to design practical, vessel-appropriate solutions that reflect the unique working environment at sea (long hours, limited cooking and storage, fatigue), the requirement for one contractor to deliver all elements, named subcontractors, and assignment of deliverable IP to WFA-CPC.
