LondonEnergy is seeking a supplier for a complete engineered fire detection and suppression system for four individual turbine areas within its Turbine Hall (approximately 4 x 15 m² protected areas) as part of a market engagement exercise; expressions of interest should be emailed to [email protected]. The contractor must deliver full design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, certification, documentation, training and warranty for the system, including site surveys and risk assessment, integration with existing fire alarm and plant control systems, and provision of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals and a cause-and-effect matrix. The specification prefers infrared flame detection and a water mist suppression solution (or an equivalent or superior technology) and requires the design to address credible oil-release scenarios where oil may contact high-temperature steam pipework; all works must comply with applicable UK legislation and standards (including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 5839-1, relevant BS EN 54 standards and appropriate standards for the chosen suppression technology). Tender submissions must include technical design narratives, drawings, compliance matrices, programme, detailed commercial proposals, evidence of competence and health & safety documentation, and the contractor must plan works to minimise disruption in an operational industrial environment and identify any required outages or isolations.

This opportunity is most relevant to firms with proven experience in industrial or power-generation turbine/machinery-space fire detection and suppression projects and recognised third‑party accreditations; key challenges include designing for oil-release onto hot steam pipework, justifying IR detection and water-mist (or equivalent) choices, demonstrating compliance with multiple UK and British/EN standards, integrating with existing site controls, and executing works safely with minimal operational disruption.
