South Oxfordshire District Council is seeking an artist to design and fabricate a bespoke metal gateway for 116-120 Broadway, Didcot, as part of the wider redevelopment of the site. The gateway will mark the transition from the busy Broadway frontage into a semi-private communal courtyard serving new homes and Class E spaces within a mixed-use, affordable housing development, and is envisaged as a functional, sculptural artwork integrated into the site's architectural metalwork package. The redevelopment contributes to the Didcot Garden Town 'Cultural Spine' and emphasizes regenerating a prominent town centre site alongside new housing, the retrofit of a historic shopfront, active ground-floor uses and a focus on sustainability, accessibility and long-term quality.
