Tender: Cycle Hire Scheme Provision in Central Bedfordshire — Supply 50–100 Pedal Bicycles across Houghton Regis, Leighton Buzzard, Biggleswade and Ampthill
Released about 1 year ago
About
Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a supplier to establish a cycle hire scheme and provide between 50 and 100 pedal bicycles across four towns: Houghton Regis, Leighton Buzzard (including Linslade), Biggleswade and Ampthill. The scheme should serve at least 12 locations in Houghton Regis (with at least six locations within the Bidwell West and Linmere developments), at least 12 locations across Leighton Buzzard and Linslade (with at least six locations sited within the Chamberlains Barn and Clipstone Park developments), at least 8 locations in Biggleswade and at least 6 locations in Ampthill. The tender notes populations of approximately 20,000 for Houghton Regis, 43,000 for Leighton Buzzard and Linslade combined, 22,500 for Biggleswade and 9,000 for Ampthill. Cycle parking in the form of Sheffield Stands will be provided in advance at each designated location in Leighton Buzzard, Biggleswade and Ampthill.
This could be ideal for operators able to supply and manage 50–100 pedal bicycles across multiple small towns and meet specified per-town location counts. Key considerations include delivering the minimum number of locations (including the six sites required within named funding developments in Houghton Regis and the six required in Chamberlains Barn/Clipstone Park for Leighton Buzzard) and working with Sheffield Stands that will be provided in advance in Leighton Buzzard, Biggleswade and Ampthill, while planning for differences in town population and site distribution.
