NHS Midlands and Lancashire CSU, acting on behalf of NHS Cheshire & Merseyside ICB, is seeking a provider to transfer and deliver ongoing clinical care and support for 3 individuals with a learning disability and/or autism who display behaviours that challenge, including those with a mental health condition, into Nixon Street in Macclesfield. The procurement is for specialist, self-contained adapted accommodation and clinical care to support rehabilitation and discharge from acute settings, initially prioritising patients from Cheshire East and then Cheshire West, Wirral and new hospital discharges or repatriations; the facility may also accept repatriations from independent sector placements. Nixon Street is a substantial property near Macclesfield town centre, close to the main district general hospital and local learning disability and mental health community services; NHSE-funded capital renovation is due for landlord handover by the end of April 2026 and the service is expected to mobilise from 27 April 2026. The contract is planned for 3 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years until 26 April 2031, and procurement timelines may be affected if construction is delayed.
