BFI is seeking a supplier for project management and event production to deliver the gala cinema build, fit-out and receptions for the BFI London Film Festival. The contract covers project management of the installation of screen, draping, sound and broader fit-out at the gala venue; projection of screenings is managed by BFI in-house technical teams. Across the 12-day festival the supplier will support between 22 and 26 red carpet premieres at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall and occasionally broader festival venues, featuring UK, European and World premieres with on-stage A-list talent introductions and some partner-sponsored premieres. The Opening and Closing Nights are formal red carpet gala evenings held at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, or a venue of similar size and scale, each featuring a European or World premiere followed by a reception at a landmark London venue. A number of Sponsored Headline Galas include pre- or post-screening receptions for approximately 350–500 high-profile guests, typically running c.18:00–19:30 or 20:00–00:00 and including drinks, canapés, a DJ and light venue dressing.

This opportunity could suit event production and venue fit-out firms experienced in cinema builds, draping, sound installation and managing high-profile red carpet events. Key considerations include delivering 22–26 premieres over a 12-day period, coordinating with BFI’s in-house projection teams, working at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall or similarly sized venues, and staging receptions for c.350–500 guests within defined evening time windows.
