Partners in Care and Health (PCH) is seeking an individual or partnership with operational Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) assessment experience to provide subject expertise on the technical and legislative development of a national AMHP dataset. The role requires demonstrated credibility and knowledge of Mental Health Act assessment, the full range of AMHP functions and legal responsibilities, how councils monitor and manage access to AMHP work, identification of national-level metrics and supporting data items, and familiarity with the structure of the Adult Social Care Client Level Dataset to inform a similar approach for the AMHP dataset. The adviser will work collaboratively with the PCH team and the Data subgroup of the AMHP Partnership Group (steering group) to build on previous dataset work, develop draft metrics, data items, definitions and lookup tables, test data collection feasibility with councils, and present clear recommendations while applying equality, diversity and inclusion principles including familiarity with the NHS England patient and carer race equality framework (PCREF).
