Ashfield District Council, via the Nottinghamshire County Council procurement team, is seeking a commercial operator to run the Automated Distribution and Manufacturing Centre (ADMC), a 3,000m2 purpose-built automation centre focused on research and development, prototyping and proof of principle, showcasing and demonstration, and skills and training. The ADMC building is expected to be completed by December 2027 and the procurement is expected to follow a Competitive Flexible Procedure under the Procurement Act 2023; a preliminary market engagement stage has commenced to shape requirements, award criteria and contractual terms. Initial group engagement events will be held via Teams on 10 November 2026 and 12 November 2026 (10:00–11:00) with further events possible before the end of November 2026, followed by invited individual discussions; a previous late-2025 procurement was unsuccessful partly due to bidder feedback on scope and subsidy/compliance issues, and ADC aims to appoint an operator in 2027. To express interest or send clarification questions contact Jamie Burton at [email protected]; more information is available at www.theadmc.co.uk.
