About

AHDB is seeking a supplier for an economic impact assessment of a potential African swine fever (ASF) outbreak in the UK to help prepare the pig and pork industry to continue operating and recover rapidly. The study should quantify economic and productivity impacts, build on AHDB’s 2018 and 2020 assessments, and provide an evidence base for industry representative bodies such as the National Pig Association, British Meat Processors' Association and National Farmers' Union. The work must consider ASF risks including transmission via infected pigs and contaminated pork products and the reservoir in wild boar, and reflect recent developments including the outbreak in Spain in November 2025. Estimated value is approx £40k, contract start date is 21st September 2026 with an end date of 25th January 2027; closing date for quotes is Monday 24th August at 12 NOON. Please email responses to [email protected].
