About

Historic England awarded a contract to Createc Ltd for the supply of an agile mobile robot designed to carry field survey equipment, operate remotely, and enter unsafe spaces for survey without endangering life.

The robot is capable of mounting a Leica RTC360 laser scanner as a remotely-operated payload for survey purposes, and will be used in and around buildings and structures that may be structurally unsafe or have access issues dangerous for human entry.

Delivery was arranged by collection from the supplier or delivery to Historic England's York office, and an introduction to the unit and basic training sufficient to get the robot safely operable was provided.

The contract value was AUD 69,521.
