About

Leicestershire County Council awarded a contract to Statom Group Limited for site remediation works at Firs Farm in Lutterworth.

The contract aimed to restore the site to a condition acceptable to the Environment Agency and the Council, preventing future contamination of land, neighbouring land, or waterways, and enabling the site to be re-let by the Council.

The contractor managed all aspects of the remediation, including project management, health and safety, environmental assessments, clearance of waste via treatment or disposal, and replacement of contaminated soil with new soil suitable for farm use.

The contract was valued at AUD 2,133,000 and operated under the JCT Design and Build 2016 terms.

Site possession began on 26 July 2023, with works completion scheduled for 29 September 2023.
