About

BEIS awarded a contract to Ricardo-AEA Ltd for research to improve evidence on energy and carbon savings potential from energy efficiency measures and technologies for industrial processes.

The research aimed to support analysis of industrial decarbonisation for carbon budget setting and inform policy development.

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) planned to share the evidence with the Climate Change Committee (CCC) to influence Carbon Budget 7 (CB7) modelling and subsequent advice on UK greenhouse gas emission restrictions for 2038-2042.

Final analytical outputs were required by the end of June 2024, with the final report and handover by the end of August 2024.

The contract value was £338,477.15.
