About
The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government awarded a contract to the National Learning and Work Institute for research into English language conversation clubs and the role of volunteers.
The contract established two complementary strands: the first involved prototyping, testing, and producing a best-practice model and supporting guide for setting up and running conversation clubs; the second created a range of products offering advice for individuals and organisations on appropriate volunteer roles in English language learning, along with support materials for volunteers.
The contract value was £225,000.
