About

Dorset Council awarded a contract to Knights Brown Construction Ltd for the replacement of the Weymouth Harbour Walls F&G, which are the north and east facing walls forming part of the Weymouth Peninsula.

The project involves installing nearly 500m of PU sheet piles one meter in front of the old sheet piles, with the first 175m from the start of Wall G at the beach being cantilevered and the remaining portion of Wall G and all of Wall F supported by tie rods connecting to old anchor blocks.

The capping beam on the old sheet piles will be demolished and a new reinforced capping beam constructed at a fixed level on top of the new sheet piles to provide necessary flood defences.

The contract value is £5,209,964.83.
