About

Telford & Wrekin Council awarded a contract to Dragon Play & Sports for the replacement of recently removed play equipment (a large multi-unit) and safer surfacing at Poolside in Horsehay, Telford, along with the removal of two existing 5-a-side goalposts and safer surfacing and their replacement, including a replacement surface to prevent goalmouth wear.

The contract value was £20,930.

The project involved installing a multi-unit with potential for social games, climbing, balancing, hanging, scrambling, sliding, and integrated play, primarily for children aged 3-12 years, and two replacement 5-a-side goals with backs to prevent ball loss.

Equipment, surfacing, and design were required to meet or exceed BSEN 1176/BSEN 1177 compliance, with all equipment firmly anchored and appropriate signage attached.

A post-installation inspection by ROSPA was undertaken prior to official acceptance.
