About

IMaGE Delivery Team awarded a contract to QinetiQ Limited for the PICASSO - Aeronautical Information Capability (P-AIC), delivering an end-to-end capability for the collection, processing, and production of authoritative and assured aeronautical information to meet UK Defence aviation requirements.

The contract, valued at AUD 32,527,000, replaces an existing system with growing obsolescence issues and ensures compliance with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373 as amended by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/469.

It also enables continued collaboration and sharing of Defence and Civilian aeronautical information with Five Eyes partners through the Allied System for GEOINT Aeronautical Sub-Group (AASG) by adopting common data standards, practices, and procedures to deliver a co-production capability that allows ingest and export of data between No 1 AIDU and the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and other Five Eyes partners.
