About

Walsall Council e-Tendering awarded a contract to Speller Metcalfe Malvern Limited for the design and refurbishment of Bradford Mall within the Saddlers Centre in Walsall town centre.

The project, valued at £6,550,000, was procured through a two-stage process from the Constructing West Midlands (CWM) Lot 1 Framework.

It aims to strengthen the retail offer with high-quality finishes, improve the shopping experience, and form the main retail core of the existing Saddlers Centre as part of the wider Connected Gateway Programme.

Funded by Central Government Future High Streets (FHSF) monies, the project must comply with strict funding deadlines and limited budget flexibility, with programme as a key driver to achieve defrayment and avoid delays to the Connected Gateway and upper mall works.
