About

Northern Lighthouse Board awarded a contract to Ryden LLP for the detailed design phase of the refurbishment of its headquarters buildings at 84 George Street / 62 Rose Street North Lane.

The project follows pre-project and investigative works covering space utilisation, asbestos presence, energy performance, fire safety, and electrical infrastructure condition.

The electrical installation, largely dating from the 1970s and 1990s with ad-hoc additions, has deficiencies including incomplete fire stopping and overheating cables.

The refurbishment aims to upgrade the electrical installation to current standards, improve space utilisation based on a 2021 Space Solutions study, and incorporate carbon reduction and energy efficiency measures from a 2020 Carbon Trust report.

IT infrastructure improvements include replacing Ethernet cabling with Cat6 standard cabling.

The contract value is AUD 52,610.
