About

Avon Fire & Rescue Service awarded a contract to Knights Brown Construction Limited for the redevelopment of Avonmouth Fire Station in Bristol.

The project involves phased demolition of existing facilities and phased construction of a new BREEAM 'Excellent' rated five-bay, two-storey fire station, including an appliance bay, quiet rooms, training room, and associated external works such as hard and soft landscaping.

The contractor will also act as Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

The existing fire station will remain fully operational 24/7 throughout the 65-week project.

The contract, valued at AUD 4,024,000, uses the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Priced Contract with Activity Schedule (Main Option A) and a traditional procurement method with contractors design packages for certain elements.
