About

West Malling Parish Council awarded a contract to Sovereign Sports Ltd for the rebuild of two tennis courts.

The work included spiking courts with 30mm holes at approximately 450mm centres and backfilling with pea-shingle, chasing a 150mm channel around existing edging kerbs, and applying a bitumen emulsion tack coat.

The surface was rolled and cross rolled, then finished with two directional coats of anti-slip acrylic court paint.

Two sets of tennis lines were marked and painted with quartz sand slip-resistant acrylic line paint.

Existing posts and sockets were replaced with new nylon coated posts with brass winding mechanisms, heavy duty sockets, and nets.

Additionally, 67 linear metres of Sports System fencing at 3m high and 34 linear metres at 3.6m high were supplied and installed, comprising galvanised powder coated posts and panels with double lift 200mm x 50mm x double 5mm horizontal and single 6mm vertical wires, including a gate and reuse of an existing gate.

Removal of old fencing and double gate was included.

The contract value was £47,150.
