About

The University of Southampton awarded a contract to Newgen Publishing UK Limited for the provision of production services for the NIHR Journals Library.

The contract, valued at £6,000,000, involves editorial and production management of peer-reviewed manuscripts, including copy-editing, artwork redraw, XML-first typesetting, proofing, metadata management, and indexing.

The services support the NIHR Journals Library's transition to a threaded-publication format, where research articles are published sequentially and threaded together online with a synopsis.

The contract includes journal development with potential variations for increased manuscript numbers.

The NIHR Journals Library comprises five open access peer-reviewed journals reporting on health and care research.
