About

Cefas awarded a contract to Gardline Geosurvey Ltd for the provision of a Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) operator and PAM equipment to support a multidisciplinary offshore survey on board RV Cefas Endeavour.

The survey, conducted in partnership with the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) and Natural England (NE), supports Defra’s data gathering for monitoring the UK’s offshore Marine Protected Areas network, including the Pisces Reef Complex SAC and Utopia MCZ.

The contract covers acoustic data collection using a chirper, with PAM operations carried out during nighttime hours in line with JNCC guidelines, expected during the first five days of the survey.

The contract value is £7,500.
